Sending Update Notifications

With Licensing you are able to email all of your customers who have not yet updated to a certain release.

Notifications will not be sent to customers who are on a more recent release than the release you are currently viewing. For example, if you release v1.5 of your product, and then version 1.5.1. If you send notifications to customers from the v1.5 release screen, customers who have already updated to v1.5.1 will not receive a notification.

Additionally, due to a limitation of iThemes Exchange, customers who purchased your product through Guest Checkout will only receive update notifications if the Guest Checkout add-on is still active.

Pressing the Notify button, launches the notification editor.

A customer will only receive one notification, even if they have multiple installs on an outdated version. The emails can be customized per customer by using the Insert Template Tag button.

To receive the best performance you should install the wpMandrill plugin. This will send notifications in bulk using Mandrill.

Template Tags

Template tags can be used by pressing the Insert Template Tag button, selecting a tag, and pressing Insert. If the tag did not appear, try first clicking inside the editor and repeating the previous steps.
